Harley Lippman, founder and chief executive officer of Genesis 10, and sought after diplomatic analyst, told guests at the Jerusalem Post Conference in New York that the lack of support for the war in the US is because of poor messaging.

Lippman, a philanthropist and business leader who serves on the boards of several foreign policy think tanks, including the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and is a Council member of the Brookings Institution, presented several reasons why it is essential that the United States destroy the Iranian regime.

“Number one,” said Lippman, “They pose an existential threat to the United States. They already have built medium-range missiles that are hitting Israel. They're building long-range missiles with the sole purpose of reaching the United States with a nuclear warhead. So they represent an existential threat to the United States.”

Lippman added that toppling the Iranian regime is an integral part of President Trump's strategy vis-a-vis China, whom he termed America's prime adversary. “If you could leverage oil, which China desperately needs, by holding back Venezuelan and Iranian oil, which make up about 20% of China's needs, you could use leverage and prevent China, perhaps from going to war over Taiwan, preventing World War III.”

The third reason that justifies the defeat of Iran, said Lippman, is because it is the world center of terrorism, which costs lives and trillions of dollars. Finally, he added that liberating Iran represents the highest ideals of the United States. “Let’s think of America at our best when we are seen as liberators, like in World War II. We went to Europe not to rape, not to pillage, but to liberate. The Iranian people are suffering terribly. Let's be known as a country that liberates people that are oppressed.”
