Residential burglaries in Israel rise sharply during the summer vacation period, with August seeing an approximately 40% increase compared with the monthly average, according to an analysis conducted by Brickstone.
The company said the number of home burglaries in August reaches around 11,000, compared with an annual monthly average of approximately 7,800 burglaries.
The main reason for the seasonal increase, according to Brickstone, is that many Israelis leave their homes empty while traveling for summer vacations, creating an opportunity for burglars.
Brickstone, which owns and operates secure private safe-deposit facilities, said the trend has led it to launch a summer promotion for Israelis traveling during July and August who want to store valuable items outside their homes.
Jewelry, watches, cash, and documents
The company said customers often use private safe-deposit boxes to store jewelry, luxury watches, cash, valuable collections, rare documents, and other important possessions.
As part of the summer offer, Brickstone said it is offering safe-deposit box rentals for NIS 199 per month, representing an approximate 50% saving compared with standard long-term rental rates.
Dvir Indig, CEO and founder of Brickstone, said the company designed its facilities to provide customers with physical protection and discretion.
“Our three private safe deposit facilities meet the highest standards of physical security and operate under strict security and confidentiality protocols,” Indig said. “Across our facilities, we offer approximately 6,000 safe deposit boxes in various sizes to meet our customers’ needs.”
Brickstone said the promotion is intended to give travelers a secure storage option during the period in which homes are more likely to be left unoccupied.
