Families visiting Jerusalem during the final weeks of the summer vacation can access six major heritage and archaeological sites in the Jewish Quarter for NIS 160 per family under a summer initiative running through August.
The “Family Summer in the Jewish Quarter” program is being run by the Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Tradition Ministry together with the Society for the Rehabilitation and Development of the Jewish Quarter.
The family pass includes admission for parents and children to the Hurva Synagogue, the Herodian Quarter-Wohl Archaeological Museum, Hezekiah’s Broad Wall, the Burnt House, the Plugat HaKotel Museum, and the Davidson Center and Jerusalem Archaeological Park.
Making Jerusalem's Jewish history accessible to families
Organizers said the initiative was intended to make a full day of activities in Jerusalem’s Old City more affordable for Israeli families while introducing children to the Jewish Quarter’s archaeological sites and Jewish history.
The program, which began in July, will continue through the end of August.
“The Jewish Quarter is an ideal destination for a family day outing in Jerusalem this summer,” the Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Tradition Ministry said.
“A wide range of meaningful and enjoyable experiences for children and adults is now available through a single family pass at a particularly affordable price,” the ministry added. “We invite families from across Israel to come up to Jerusalem, spend time together and create unforgettable family memories in the heart of our shared history.”
Jewish Quarter sites span thousands of years of Jerusalem history
The Jewish Quarter contains sites spanning several periods of Jerusalem’s history, from remains dating to the First and Second Temple periods to landmarks associated with the modern history of the Old City.
The subsidized pass is available through the Society for the Rehabilitation and Development of the Jewish Quarter.
