Danish soccer player Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch in a match against Ukraine on Sunday, but was conscious, public broadcaster DR reported.
Players from both teams surrounded Eriksen, who could walk himself to the ambulance. He is in a good condition "under the circumstances," DR reported the Danish National Team as saying.
This is not the first time Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during a match. He collapsed during a Denmark-Finland match in Copenhagen on June 12, 2021 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
"Suddenly, we just see Christian Eriksen fall on the grass," said TVA Live's radio commentator Mads Thyrested to DR.
"He is ok," said the Danish national soccer team's medical doctor Morten Boesen, in a statement released by the Danish national team. Boesen also said that Eriksen's pacemaker, implanted after his 2021 collapse, would be analyzed.
"We are all with you, Christian," posted the Ukrainian National Team on Instagram.
Eriksen has sent a message to his teammates, Danish head coach Brian Riemer told TV2.
"The most important thing is that Christian and his family are ok," teammate Pierre-Emile Højberg told TV2 Sport.
This is a developing story.
