US President Donald Trump will address the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.
UN Ambassador Mike Waltz told reporters that Trump's remarks would highlight peace deals the president has worked on, US actions in the Western Hemisphere, and progress on Trump’s 20-point peace plan in Gaza.
It will also touch on the “importance of ensuring that Iran never has a nuclear weapon,” Waltz said.
"While others have talked, I have acted. While others have spoken of peace, I have made it. While others have ignored threats, I have confronted them. While others have talked of courage, America has shown it. While others have promised strength, I have used it to make America the most powerful country in the world," Trump is due to say, according to speech excerpts seen by The Jerusalem Post.
"In America, we just marked the 25th anniversary of the worst terror attack in history, September 11th, which killed 3,000 people a few miles from here. In two weeks, we will mark the third anniversary of the October 7th attack in Israel, where terrorists funded by Iran tortured, mutilated, and killed 1,200 innocent civilians, including dozens of Americans," the excerpt continues.
"Iran’s supreme leader celebrated that massacre and called it a 'service to humanity.' The same regime slaughtered over 72,000 of its own citizens this year. Just imagine if such a vile regime were ever empowered to carry out large-scale terror attacks from behind a nuclear shield. This was the reality we had to confront, a reality that far too many preferred to ignore," Trump's speech continues.
"I want to thank the UN Security Council for voting overwhelmingly to pass a resolution condemning Iran’s despicable terrorist attacks on commercial shipping. That resolution, I am pleased to say, received more co-sponsors from UN member nations than any Security Council Resolution in history," Trump's speech added.
"The United States will no longer permit threats to America to gain a foothold anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. And if necessary, we will use our unmatched military might to secure the vital national interests of the United States," he is due to add.
"The cartels are the ISIS of the Western Hemisphere. They are enemies at war with civilization, using murder, rape, torture, and extortion as instruments of terror," Trump is due to say.
"The Cuban regime has also spent decades coordinating with left-wing radicals and Communist networks here in the United States. As our State Department has detailed, they have cultivated ties to subversive and radical groups such as the Communist Party USA, Antifa, and the Dumocrat Socialists of America. There is no global government, and while I am President, there will be NO GLOBAL TAXES. Freedom was not a gift that Americans won easily, and after 250 years, it is not one we will ever surrender," the speech excerpt ended.
Guterres condemns Hamas's Oct. 7 massacre, calls Israel's reaction a 'scale of death and destruction unlike anything I have seen'
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned Hamas's October 7 massacre, before immediately denouncing Israel's reaction as "unlike anything [he had] ever seen before" during the opening statements at the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
"We must not for a moment lose sight of the devastating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories," he said.
"Almost three years have passed since the heinous Hamas terror attack of October 7, but what followed was a large-scale offensive against Palestinians in Gaza, involving a scale of death and destruction unlike anything I have seen during my years as secretary-general," he stated.
" The International Court of Justice has issued legally binding provisional measures in the case titled, and I quote, ‘Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip,’” he continued.
“In an advisory opinion issued last year, the international court made clear that the UN must be allowed to fulfill its mandates in Gaza, and that our staff and humanitarian aid workers must be protected," Guterres said.
"All parties must comply with international law and the Court’s orders," he added.
"Meanwhile, violence, displacement, and settlement expansion by Israel in the occupied West Bank are trampling the path to peace and raising fears of ethnic cleansing," he said.
"We cannot allow the two-state solution to disappear before our eyes," Guterres added.

UN Special Rapporteur "Francesca Albanese must not be persecuted for telling the truth," Lula added.
