Former prime minister Naftali Bennett announced on Sunday his selection of candidates for his B'Yachad party's Knesset slate ahead of the upcoming deadline to submit lists before the October elections.
The B’Yachad party was formed from an alliance between Bennett and opposition leader Yair Lapid’s centrist Yesh Atid Party.
Yesh Atid had announced its slate earlier on Saturday evening. The full list of the B’Yachad party - combining Lapid and Bennett’s joint slate - will be unveiled later on Sunday evening at a party event in Tel Aviv.
Lapid will receive the second slot on the party’s list, after Bennett.
Women with experience as senior civil servants granted high places on B'Yachad list
Notably, after Lapid, the next three top slots on the list will be held by women who previously served as senior director-generals in the public sector, the B’Yachad party stated.
Third on Bennett’s list is Keren Terner, who had served as director-general of the Communications Ministry.
After her, in fourth, is Liran Avisar Ben Horin, who had served as director-general of both the Finance and Transportation Ministries.
Yesh Atid MK Meirav Ben-Ari, who serves as the opposition coordinator in the Knesset, will receive the second slot after Lapid on his slate.
In the sixth slot of Bennett’s slate is also Yonathan Shalev, 23, who will become Israel’s youngest-ever lawmaker if he enters parliament. He said he aims to be the voice for the younger generation and help shape the country’s future in the aftermath of the October 7 Hamas attacks in 2023.
“After hard work and an in-depth selection process, we are presenting today the best team to repair the State of Israel," Bennett said following the release of the B'Yachad slate.
“Personally, I believe this is the best and most effective list to run for the Knesset in the past generation."
"This list reflects Israel’s existential need for its future: people who work hard, quickly, and at the highest possible level," he added.
The list also includes nine candidates who are active reservists, the B'Yachad party noted.
Ahead of the deadline for submitting party lists on Tuesday, the coming days are the final opportunity for parties to forge alliances before the elections and lock in their Knesset slates.
