Following the de-escalation of the security situation with Iran, Home Front Command announced on Monday night that it will update its defensive guidelines for activities nationwide, effective at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The current defensive policy will remain unchanged until Tuesday morning. However, adjustments will be made in the northern communities of Sifsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, and Sde Eliezer, which will move to a Partial Activity level.

The rest of the country will operate at a Full Activity level, with no restrictions.

Back to school in Israel?

Education Minister Yoav Kisch also announced on Monday that studies and school attendance across the Israeli education system will be suspended on Tuesday, and all exams will be postponed until Sunday next week due to the current escalation with Iran, according to a Kan News report.

This announcement was made during a press briefing following consultations with senior officials from the Education Ministry, local authority leaders, representatives of regional councils, and other stakeholders.

Kisch said in the briefing, “Tomorrow will be an organizational day for the education system to allow each authority to open studies under restrictions. On Wednesday, there will be a return to in-person studies in a protected format.”

He stressed that the ministry's policy is to prioritize returning to in-person learning as soon as possible, but that all educational instruction must align with Home Front Command guidelines and updates as the security situation evolves.

Kitsch also emphasized that a special focus would be placed on returning students to special education, frameworks for at-risk youth, informal education, and preparations for end-of-school-year events.
