IDF soldiers reportedly filmed and circulated a video of a blindfolded Palestinian man in the Gaza Strip tied to a broomstick with zip ties, Palestinian media reported on Thursday.
The man in the video also appears to be stripped to his underwear and further tied to a folding metal cot.
Though it initially said it was unfamiliar with the details of the video, the IDF later said it had investigated the incident and confirmed its legitimacy.
"Following a thorough investigation, the incident in question has been identified,” the IDF said in a statement.
“A command-level inquiry is being conducted, and those involved will be dealt with in accordance with its findings."
UN inquiry accuses Israel of deliberately targeting Palestinians
This comes after the IDF was accused by a UN inquiry of “deliberately targeting and killing Palestinian children” to “destroy the biological continuity of the Palestinians in Gaza.”
The report claimed to examine alleged violations and crimes against Palestinian children by the IDF since October 7, 2023, resulting in the death of “at least 20,179 and injury of 44,143 children.”
The paper refers to the killing of Palestinian children as “deliberate,” and also claims Israel uses “torture, inhumane and degrading treatment, including sexual and gender-based violence, against Palestinian children.”
