An open-air fire broke out near Highway 6 in the Ben Shemen Forest area, prompting road closures in both directions on Tuesday.
Fourteen firefighting crews from the Ayalon station are working at the scene alongside four firefighting aircraft. Israel Fire and Rescue has told the public to avoid the area until the blaze is contained and to follow instructions from authorities.
A police spokesperson announced that, following the outbreak of the fire, traffic from Highway 6 will be diverted to Highway 444 and traffic from Highway 1 will be directed to Highway 443. Drivers are asked to use navigation apps to find alternative routes.
