Several haredi (ultra-Orthodox) protesters blocked a road in the area of Meron on Saturday due to buses operating prior to the end of Shabbat, N12 News reported.
Footage published by N12 showed multiple nearby civilians dragging the protesters out of the way and attempting to escort a bus through the demonstration.
Walla noted that the incident marks the sixth consecutive week in which haredi demonstrators blocked traffic to protest public transportation operating on Shabbat.
The Israel Police attempted to disperse the protest, added Walla, with secular counterprotesters arriving on scene as well.
