Captain Doctor Ori Yosef Silvester was killed in combat in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Monday evening.
Silvester, 30, from Tel Aviv, was a doctor in the Givati Brigade's Shaked Battalion.
Two other officers and one soldier were severely wounded, one soldier was moderately wounded, and two officers and one soldier were lightly wounded in the same incident, the IDF said.
The Shaked Battalion commander, a Lt.-Col., was among the lightly wounded, Army Radio reported.
All wounded soldiers were evacuated to receive treatment at a hospital, and their families have been notified.
Six drones explode on IDF armored vehicle
According to Army Radio, Silvester was killed during an incident in which around six explosive Hezbollah drones were launched towards IDF troops earlier on Monday afternoon.
The drones exploded on a Namer APC, killing Silvester and wounding the other soldiers.
