Israeli fashion designer Vivi Bellaish has partnered with luxury car brand Genesis ahead of his BLACKSTAR couture show on October 12, the collaborators announced.
The first part of the collaboration is a limited-edition T-shirt that the partners are sending to a small group of people in fashion and culture. The partners said the design offers a preview of the collection Bellaish will present on the runway.
The Hebrew word bereshit, meaning “in the beginning,” provides the link to the Genesis name. According to the announcement, Bellaish’s new collection draws on ideas of origins, change, and reinterpreting the familiar.
"The word Genesis, meaning ‘beginning,’ stirred something in me. It took me back to the moments and roots where it all began, and from there, only forward,” Bellaish said. “I take the past, break it apart, build something new from it and fly toward the future. For me, the sky is only the starting point.”
Genesis is represented in Israel by Colmobil. Galit Miller, the company’s luxury brands marketing manager, said the partnership reflected a shared interest in design and in drawing on the past to create something new.
“Aesthetics is one of Genesis’s core values,” Miller said. “It is present in everything we do, from the car’s proportions and lines, through the choice of materials and small details, to the customer experience.”
