Explosions were heard in multiple locations in Iran, including Qeshm Island, Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Jask Port, on Saturday evening, according to Iranian state media reports.

Two explosions were first heard on the eastern side of Iran’s Qeshm Island on Saturday evening, according to Iranian state media outlet IRNA.

Shortly afterwards, several explosions were also heard near Jask Port in Iran’s Hormozgan province.

Iranian state media outlet ISNA then reported additional explosions in Bandar Abbas and Sirik.

The source and nature of the explosions have not yet been confirmed, but ISNA reported that the explosions could be linked to Iranian military actions in the Strait of Hormuz.

US struck Qeshm Island twice over past week

Earlier on Saturday, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US conducted a “minor strike” on Qeshm Island in the early morning hours. Iranian semi-official Tasnim News Agency said that two missiles had struck the island during the overnight strike.

A similar, limited strike on Qeshm Island occurred on Monday. A US official told The Jerusalem Post that the strike was ordered in response to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attempting to target an American aircraft with a missile launched from the island.
