The Yalla Galil summer festival has gotten underway in Kiryat Shmona, as approximately 7,000 people arrived at Gold Park for the opening evening, which was dedicated to Galilee residents and families of reservists.
Osher Cohen and Noam Kleinstein performed on stage, while a parallel performance by Itay Levi took place at the Ein Hozeim Amphitheater in the Merom Hagalil Regional Council as part of the festival's events.
Prior to the performances, a family activity area opened in the park, featuring children's shows, workshops, and activities. The area will remain active through Thursday as part of the festival events.
The "Yalla Galil" festival, held for the first time as an initiative of the Development of the Negev Ministry, the Galilee, and National Resilience alongside the Galilee Development Authority, will run until August 20. It will feature events at approximately 15 locations across the North, including Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, Metula, Kfar Giladi, Majdal Shams, Safed, Kfar Vradim, Merom Hagalil, and Ma'ale Yosef.
Over the coming weeks, a lineup of artists will perform at the festival, including Eden Hason, Eden Ben Zaken, The Revivo Project, Teapacks, Yuval Dayan, Amir Benayoun, Ehud Banai, Ethnix, Knesiyat Hasechel, Shlomi Saranga, and others. Alongside the performances, activities for the entire family will take place, including arts and crafts areas, wine and art fairs, children's shows, a science and sea festival, and additional attractions, some of which are free of charge.
As part of the festival events, the Galilee Conference will also be held in Safed on August 11, focusing on security challenges and strengthening civilian resilience in the North.
