Looking for a family activity that combines travel, history, and culture without spending hundreds of shekels on attractions? The Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem is offering a particularly interesting option this summer.

As part of the Family Summer in the Jewish Quarter project, families will be able to visit six major heritage sites in the quarter for a total price of NIS 160 per family.

The project is an initiative of the Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Heritage Ministry in cooperation with the Company for the Reconstruction and Development of the Jewish Quarter. It is designed to allow families to closely experience the story of Jerusalem and the Jewish Quarter through sites spanning thousands of years of history.

The family ticket includes entry to six central heritage sites:

  • Hurva Synagogue
  • The Herodian Quarter - Wohl Archaeological Museum
  • Hezekiah's Wall - "The Broad Wall"
  • The Burnt House
  • The Western Wall Heritage Center
  • Davidson Archaeological Center

Each of the sites presents a different chapter in the history of Jerusalem, from ancient times to the story of the Jewish Quarter in later periods. For families, this is an opportunity to turn a trip to the Old City into a single curated itinerary, instead of jumping between separate attractions.

Thousands of years of history in one route

The goal of the initiative is to encourage families from across the country to come to Jerusalem and explore the heritage sites of the Jewish Quarter, combining a family outing with learning and discovering the city's story.

The activity runs until the end of August 2026, so during the last two weeks of summer vacation, families can still take advantage of the ticket and combine the sites into a day trip in the Old City.

"The Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem is the perfect destination for a family outing in the summer," officials at the Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Heritage Ministry said, adding that the ticket allows visitors to enjoy a variety of experiential and educational activities for children and adults at a discounted, accessible price.
