After nearly 20 years, the Travelers Hotels chain is parting ways with the Gesher Haziv Hotel. At the end of October, the chain will end its operations at the hotel and will not extend its lease agreement with Kibbutz Gesher Haziv. Instead, the chain is redirecting its operations and regional investments to a new project in Achziv, where it is expected to invest approximately NIS 30 million in renovating and preparing a new hotel.
With the agreement of Kibbutz Gesher Haziv, management of the hotel will pass to the Mosh's Beach group, which will take over the operation of the compound. The transition marks the end of a chapter lasting nearly two decades, during which the Gesher Haziv Hotel was a significant part of the Travelers Hotels chain's operations in the Western Galilee.
The chain noted that the decision not to extend the agreement with the kibbutz does not signal an exit from the region, but rather a change of direction and an investment in a new project in one of the tourism areas most identified with the Western Galilee.
A variety of accommodation options
The new hotel in Achziv is expected to offer a diverse hospitality experience, with 48 hotel rooms, two villas, and 25 glamping units, which will allow guests to enjoy the area and sea views in a variety of hosting styles. A restaurant open to the general public, and not just hotel guests, will also operate on site daily between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., alongside a dining room for hotel guests. In addition, the project will include a promenade overlooking the sea, which will form a central part of the hospitality experience and allow visitors to enjoy the view and natural environment of Achziv.
Oren Architects are in charge of the project's design, Hameiri Designers are handling interior design, and Efrat Cohen Erel is responsible for landscape architecture planning.
NIS 30 million and 76 rooms
The new project in Achziv is expected to include 76 rooms following the renovation and conversion of the hotel, with a total investment of approximately NIS 30 million. The opening to the public is planned for late 2027, and the hotel is expected to join the Travelers Hotels chain's regional operations and strengthen its presence in the Western Galilee.
The concept of the new hotel is expected to continue the line identified with the chain – connecting accommodation, nature, and travel – with the location in Achziv offering access to one of the most prominent nature and beach areas in the Western Galilee.
