The hotel industry in Ashkelon is receiving a boost: The Shevet Achim Group is currently constructing a new beachfront resort scheduled to open in March 2027. The resort, to be called "Reef," will include 98 rooms, all facing the sea, and will be part of a broader move by the group to establish a chain of resorts across the country.
The hotel will span approximately 6,000 sq.m., alongside about 14,000 sq.m. of public areas. The rooms will be designed with inspiration drawn from raw materials from the sea, including wood and stone, and will feature smart systems that allow guests to control lighting, air conditioning, electricity, and room service via an app.
At the center of the resort, an expansive spa complex is planned, featuring about 30 treatment rooms, a hammam, saunas, an indoor pool, salt rooms, a hyperbaric chamber, ice baths, and a VIP area. Alongside the spa, there will be a gym, padel courts, and a Pilates studio.
The culinary field is also expected to take center stage, with several concept restaurants in the hotel, including an Asian restaurant and an Italian restaurant. In addition, a rooftop overlooking the sea, a pool, and a bar are planned.
Reef in Ashkelon is one of three projects on which the group is working. Concurrently, it is expanding the Dream Island Resort near Kibbutz Sde Yoav and planning another resort at Migdal Beach on the Sea of Galilee.
According to Yehuda Yifrah, one of the owners of the Shevet Achim Group: "The transition to a network of resorts is a natural step in the group's development. We bring international hospitality experiences, innovation, design, and a high standard to the Israeli hotel world – with a unique identity and story for each complex. This move is an expression of our growth strategy and belief in the potential of the tourism and vacation market in Israel. We bring international standards of hospitality, design, and culinary experience, tailored precisely to the character and DNA of each area – from the South with the beach in Ashkelon to the North on the Sea of Galilee."
