The average wage per employee job for Israeli workers stood at NIS 14,241 in July 2026, according to flash estimates released on Tuesday by the Central Bureau of Statistics. This represents a 6.45% decrease compared to June 2026, when the average wage was NIS 15,223. Conversely, this reflects a 3.3% increase compared to July 2025, when the average wage was NIS 13,790. At the same time, the number of employee jobs rose to 4.492 million, marking a 0.4% increase from June 2026 (4.475 million) and a 1.2% increase compared to July 2025 (4.441 million).
The wage and employment index data are based on monthly reports submitted by employers to the National Insurance Institute. These reports do not include workers receiving unemployment benefits from the NII. The calculation of the average wage per employee job does not factor in the number of days worked during the month.
June Data
Trend data from the Central Bureau of Statistics shows that the average wage per employee job continues to rise, both in current prices and in constant prices (adjusted for the Consumer Price Index). In April-June 2026, wages in current prices climbed by an annualized 6.9%, following a 7.3% increase in the first quarter of the year. In real terms (constant prices), an annualized increase of 4.3% was recorded during the same period, following a 5.7% surge in January-March. Alongside the wage growth, stability was recorded in the number of employee jobs in the economy during the second quarter, following a 2.3% drop recorded in the first quarter.
Broken down by activity sector, the largest sector in the economy in June 2026 remained the non-financial corporate sector. This sector accounts for approximately 63% of all employee jobs in the economy, with about 2.659 million jobs. The average wage per employee job in the non-financial sector stood at NIS 16,262 during that month.
In the tech sector, the economy's growth engine, an impressive jump in wages was recorded: In June 2026, the average wage in the field stood at NIS 36,584 - a jump of 11.7% compared to June of last year (when the average wage was NIS 32,739). However, the hi-tech workforce remained virtually unchanged, standing at approximately 396,900 employee jobs (a minor increase of 0.2% compared to last year). These jobs currently account for 9.4% of all employee jobs in the economy.
