The Technion awarded the Technion Alumni Medal to Boaz Levy, Chairman of the Board of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), at a festive ceremony held today, October 26, as part of the Technion’s annual President’s Reception.

The prestigious medal is awarded to Technion graduates “who have attained exceptional achievements in science, medicine, engineering, technology, and architecture; who have made significant contributions to advancing the economy, industry, and education; and who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and exceptional commitment through public service on behalf of the State of Israel and the Technion.”

Boaz Levy, IAI’s Chairman of the Board: “I am proud and deeply honored to receive the Technion Alumni Medal. The Technion played an important role in shaping my professional path and represents the highest standards of scientific and technological excellence in Israel. Throughout my years at IAI, I have had the privilege of contributing to the development and leadership of groundbreaking systems that demonstrate the strength of Israeli talent, knowledge, and innovation. These achievements reflect a broader national imperative: to translate scientific excellence into strategic capabilities that safeguard Israel and shape the future of defense.

I view this recognition not only as a personal honor, but also as a reflection of the achievements of the thousands of engineers, researchers, and scientists who work every day to safeguard the State of Israel. Their ingenuity and dedication are central to Israel’s ability to meet evolving challenges and maintain its technological advantage. We will continue to strengthen the ties between academia and industry, nurture the next generation of engineers and scientists, and ensure that Israel remains at the forefront of defense technology for generations to come.”

Levy holds a B.Sc. in Aeronautical and Space Engineering and an M.Sc. in Systems Engineering, both from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He served as President and CEO of IAI from 2020 until his recent appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Under his leadership, IAI achieved unprecedented technological and business milestones, significantly expanded its global operations, reached record order backlogs, and delivered exceptional financial performance, further strengthening its position as one of the world’s leading defense companies.

Levy joined IAI in 1990 as a project engineer for the Arrow ballistic missile defense system and later became head of the project. Over the years, he held a series of key positions, including head of the Barak air defense system program, director of the Air Defense Systems Division, and executive vice president of the Missile and Space Division, before becoming President and CEO of IAI.

Throughout his career, Levy has led numerous strategic defense projects in close cooperation with Israel’s defense establishment. He has shared in several Israel Defense Prize awards and received the Belkind Award from the America-Israel Friendship League. In 2026, he was named among the world’s 50 most influential Jews. He has also served in recent years as a member of the Technion’s Executive Committee.
