NewMed Energy, controlled by Yitzhak Tshuva's Delek Group, announced on Wednesday the appointment of Yaakov (Yanki) Quint to the partnership's board of directors and as chairman of the board. Quint, 53, will assume his new position on November 1, 2026.

Quint replaces Niv Sarne, who moved to serve as general manager of NewMed. Sarne served as chairman for only two months after replacing Gaby Last, who retired. The role of chairman at NewMed is considered one of the most significant positions within the Delek Group.

Quint served as director of the Israel Land Authority from 2020 to 2025, and previously served as director of the Government Companies Authority from 2017 to 2020.

NewMed Energy holds a 45% stake in the Leviathan gas field, alongside Chevron (40%) and Ratio Energies (15%).
