Quantum X Labs Inc. announced on Tuesday the appointment of former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen as president of the company's scientific advisory board.
Cohen, who served as head of the Mossad from 2016 to 2021 and previously served as national security adviser from 2013 to 2016, also currently serves as a strategic adviser to SoftBank, a position to which he was appointed in August 2026.
In his new role as president of the board, which works to provide strategic scientific guidance and review the company's technological direction, Cohen will focus on applications intended for defense and critical infrastructure markets.
Alongside Cohen, the scientific advisory board includes Prof. Oren Kurland from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Prof. Oren Raz from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Cohen will work in cooperation with them to provide direction for the company's initiatives in quantum computing, quantum error correction, quantum software, quantum cybersecurity, and quantum sensing.
Cohen to guide Quantum X Labs’ scientific strategy
Quantum X Labs and its subsidiaries operate in quantum technology, digital advertising, computing, and enterprise artificial intelligence solutions. Among the quantum technologies the company is developing are a neutral-atom quantum computing platform, an AI-driven quantum error correction architecture, and a component called Quantum Gyro, which develops quantum gyroscope chip technology for navigation in GPS-denied environments. In addition, the company is working on atomic clocks for precise timing, as well as initiatives in quantum cybersecurity, nuclear simulations, and life sciences.

Yaki Baranes, co-CEO of Quantum X Labs, addressed the appointment, stating: "We appointed him because Quantum X Labs is developing a series of unique capabilities – including quantum sensing for navigation and timing, a quantum error correction decoder, and quantum cybersecurity – that will be tested in the real world, and not just in the lab."
