Samsung is marking its next target in the wearable AI world, with a first reveal of new smart glasses designed to become a natural part of daily life. During the Google I/O 2026 conference, the company presented two new premium models developed together with the eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, aiming to combine advanced technology with a fashionable design that does not feel like an experimental gadget.
The new glasses operate as a companion device to the smartphone and allow access to the AI assistant via voice commands, without the need to take the phone out of the pocket. The system includes real-time navigation capabilities, message summarization, calendar management, and receiving personalized recommendations on the go. Behind the AI experience is also Google's Gemini technology, which is integrated into the system as part of the collaboration between the companies.
At Samsung, the glasses are defined as part of expanding the Galaxy ecosystem into the AI era. The device is designed to "interpret" the world in real time for the user – from live translation of conversations to the translation of texts that appear in front of the eyes, such as signs or menus. In addition, the glasses allow hands-free photo capturing and integrate with Galaxy devices seamlessly.
One of the things Samsung is trying to emphasize here is that the glasses are not supposed to look like a bulky technological product. Therefore, the company turned to two completely different fashion brands. Gentle Monster brings a bolder and more prominent design line, while Warby Parker focuses on a clean, classic, and timeless look. Both styles are designed to make the glasses something people will actually want to wear throughout an entire day.
"We continue to expand the Galaxy device ecosystem with AI experiences tailored to every form factor," said Jae Kim, Senior Vice President at Samsung. According to him, the glasses mark a significant step in the company's vision for integrating AI into everyday products.
The partners in the project also emphasize the connection between technology and personal design. At Gentle Monster, the project was described as an attempt to merge fashion and technology in a way that is "human and beautiful," while Warby Parker emphasized the comfort and natural feel of the glasses during daily use.
The first collections are expected to reach selected markets as early as this coming autumn, with additional details about the models and availability to be revealed in the coming months.
