An Australian soldier was killed and another five were injured during a training accident on Mount Bundey on Monday, the Australian Department of Defense confirmed.
The Department of Defense confirmed that the incident had occurred and that the soldiers' next of kin had been notified, but did not provide any further details.
"We request that the privacy of Defense members and families is respected at this time," the statement added.
This is a developing story.
