Photos of three women murdered on October 7, 2023, were vandalized at a junction in Yokne’am, the municipality announced on Monday.

The pictures of Shani Gabay, Adi Landman, and Rotem Levi had been placed at a hitchhiking spot, alongside photos of several other victims of the massacre. None of the other photos were damaged.

"This is a serious, ugly and unacceptable act, which harms their memory and their families," the municipality stated.

The municipality also said that it would "continue to work to commemorate the fallen, the murdered, and the murdered, and to honor their memory at all times," as well as cooperate with law enforcement in order to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

"My daughter was taken from me on October 7," Landman's father, Barak, said, according to N12. "Her life can no longer be brought back. Now vile people are coming and destroying her memory, her face, what is left of her. There are no words that can describe the pain and anger."

Vandalizers have lost all humanity, victim's family says

Anyone capable of vandalizing the images, Barak added, had "long since lost all humanity."

Levi's mother, Ariella, also responded to the vandalism, N12 reported, saying that "This is not just an insult to their pictures. It is an insult to their memory, an insult to their families, an insult to humanity.

"It is not enough that we deal with the loss and longing every day," Ariella said, "Now we also have to deal with those who choose to desecrate their memory."
