Two mountain gazelle fawns were found during a raid in a Palestinian home in the Deheisheh area in the West Bank, Israel Police stated on Tuesday.

Officers from the Judea and Samaria District's Hetz Yehuda unit, along with troops from the IDF’s Etzion Regional Brigade, found the wild animals during a raid aimed at locating firearms and illegal weapons activity in the area.

In addition to the two gazelles, one of which was injured, police seized several other house pets being kept in poor conditions.

The injured animals were transferred to the INPA for treatment

Upon finding the animals, forces immediately contacted the Israel Nature and Parks Authority for further assistance.

The suspect, a 39-year-old resident of the area, was taken for questioning and admitted to several offenses involving harming and illegally possessing protected natural assets.
