IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir on Wednesday visited the Northern Command and Division 91 to highlight the use of robots in warfare against Hezbollah.

Zamir said that IDF soldiers are always supposed to be in front of Israeli civilians, to absorb any enemy attacks.

However, he added that the IDF now frequently uses robots to enter battle spaces before IDF soldiers to reduce the risk and harm to the soldiers.

Further, he said that in the North, even when soldiers are engaging Hezbollah, more soldiers are now doing so in tandem with robots.

The IDF has also discussed the use of special robots to enter tunnels and residences that may be booby-trapped, prior to soldiers entering

Moreover, the IDF has mentioned using remote-controlled land vehicles to collide with or assist in battling the enemy, whether Hezbollah in the North or Hamas in the South.
