Syria's electricity company said three power plants went offline after an explosion on Wednesday at a gas pipeline at the Tishreen plant, which halted the gas supplies needed to operate them.
Two people were injured in the explosion, the state-run Ekhbariya TV reported.
The Syrian Civil Defense said a fire that erupted has been brought under control and has moved into the cooling-down phase.
