The Iranian proposal stressed the need to end the war on all fronts and to lift sanctions on Tehran, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported, citing an informed source.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to speak with Trump within the next hour, a source familiar with the details told The Jerusalem Post.

Iran submitted its response to the latest US proposal to Pakistani mediators, who passed it on to the Trump administration's representatives.

"We are maintaining continuous contact with our friends in the US. I speak with President Trump on an almost daily basis," Prime Minister Netanyahu said.

The US expects a response from Iran as soon as today, according to a regional source cited by CNN.

“The Iranian hubris is overflowing,” INSS Iran researcher Beni Sabti said, warning that the only way to push the regime to accept negotiations is through renewed strikes.

"This process, Project Freedom, will begin Monday morning, Middle East time," US President Donald Trump said in a statement published in Truth Social.

Trump said on Friday that he was "not satisfied" with Iran's latest proposal, without detailing which elements he opposes, while the White House refused to comment on the state of the negotiations.

In a letter to congressional leaders on Friday, the deadline to come to Congress about the war, Trump said there has been no exchange of fire with Iran since the ceasefire.
