Panama’s ambassador to Israel told The Jerusalem Post that the president’s spokesman requested that the trip not be made public until it was announced by the Panamanian hosts.

In his address at the Western Wall during Israel's Remembrance Day ceremony, Zamir talked about fulfilling the promise of a flourishing and secure State of Israel for current and future citizens.

"You are all reluctant heroes. You have shown that despite this terrible tragedy, you have continued with your lives," said Herzog to the families of the victims.

The project, launched alongside non-profit organization Our 6 Million, aims to amplify Holocaust survivors' voices at a time where living testimonies are steadily declining.
