CFCM president called his worshipers to recognize the significance of Al-Aqsa Mosque & Jerusalem in the Muslim religion only a few months after standing against politics in places of worship.

Hamas and other Gaza-based terror groups called for “stepping up the Jerusalem uprising and threatened to respond to Israeli “aggression” against the Palestinians.

The most controversial incident of the night was one in which Israeli officers appear to throw stun grenades directly into al-Aqsa Mosque, as Muslim worshippers were praying.

An official from the PA and a senior official with the Jordanian-controlled Administration of Jerusalem’s Wakf and al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs said they were unaware of any such request.

The excavations estimate that what was unearthed underneath the structure — the outer layer of a mosque — might actually date back to 635 CE, possibly constructed by a friend of the Prophet Muhammad.

Police plastered notices of the closure order outside the mosque as the authorities promised a tough response against the disseminators of hate messages.

The MK added that it is "a basic condition in a democratic country for the public and MKs to know what they are being asked to authorize in their vote" in the plenum.
