Dig director Dr. Achia Kohn-Tavorn from Ariel University identified the stone as a Nicolo, a type of agate stone often used in jewelry and signet rings by the Romans as a symbol of wealth.

Israel's Ein Gedi nature reserve denies entry to blind man's guide dog

A 53-year-old blind man says he was denied entry to Ein Gedi because of his guide dog. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority says "The ibexes are scared of dogs."

"If the place is dangerous then no one is allowed in. We don't leave some outside and some inside," Aryeh Brander, a 53, stated.

The 17 brown sea turtles and one rare green sea turtle underwent rehabilitation at the Nature and Parks Authority's rescue center after they washed up on shore last winter.
