Qatar vetoes Volkswagen deal with Israeli defense company Rafael in Germany - report

Qatari Investment Authority reportedly opposed plans to manufacture Iron Dome components at Volkswagen’s struggling Osnabrück plant.

Volkswagen had previously slated the plant to close in 2027, though the company is now in talks with Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to retool the plant and produce components for the "Iron Dome" missile defence system. The shift would save the factory's 2,300 jobs.
