Stabbing

Police suspect the alleged stabber came to the yeshiva to pray with the rabbi. At the time, several former criminals who had returned to religious observance were also sitting around the rabbi.

A local youth and two security guards were stabbed during the brawl, which occured outside of a nightclub on Louka Louka Street in the resort town of Ayia Napa at around 04:30 a.m.

One resident of the area told BBC News that "Masked men were bashing down doors," while the Belfast Telegraph reported that Molotov cocktails had been thrown at police officers.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as "sickening" after video of the attack, which took place in north Belfast late on Monday evening, was shared widely online.

After wounding the victim, the attacker fled the scene. Israel Police later found him shortly afterward, several streets from the apartment.

The altercation, which occurred in full view of dozens of swimmers, including children, broke out after one man asked another to stop smoking near the pool. 

The man arrived at the entrance to the station around 5:30 a.m., emerged from his car, and charged toward a Border Police officer with a knife in his hand. 

The suspected perpetrator, a 31-year-old Swiss national, was arrested. The three victims of the attack were receiving hospital care, according to local police.

The arrest of the suspect, identified as Khalaf A., in line with German privacy laws, follows the sentencing of a Syrian refugee, Wassim Al M., in March to 13 years behind bars for attempted murder.

Security footage reportedly showed the suspect fleeing as police launched a manhunt and opened an investigation.
