Hikers arriving at Tel Jezreel will now encounter a renewed and more accessible site. Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund recently completed upgrade works at the site, which overlooks the landscapes of the Jezreel Valley and Mount Gilboa. As part of the works, the paths and observation points were renewed, and a new observation point was established.
Alongside the renewal of the paths, shaded seating areas were added, and accessibility works were carried out to allow people with disabilities to reach the lookouts and enjoy the open view of the valley.
Tel Jezreel combines nature, scenery, and heritage, and serves as a starting point for trips in the area. The site was prepared in the past by KKL-JNF, and has now undergone a further upgrade designed to improve the visiting experience and adapt the place to a broader audience.
Development works are expected to continue in the future, with plantings of local species and orchard species that will integrate with the existing vegetation and landscape. In addition, an upgrade is planned for the path connecting the site to Ein Jezreel and the adjacent spring.
KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky said: "Israel’s nature and landscape belong to everyone, and our responsibility is to enable as many people as possible to enjoy them. The upgrade at Tel Jezreel allows visitors, including people with disabilities, to hike, pause in front of the view, and enjoy one of the most beautiful sites in the valley. We will continue to invest in making KKL-JNF nature and heritage sites accessible and inviting for the entire public."
