Ashdod Port Company presented its unique Maritime Technology HUB at the All About Ports conference held this week in Hamburg, Germany, bringing together leading figures from the global ports, shipping, logistics and supply chain industries.
The Ashdod Port innovation delegation was led by Shaul Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Roi Avrahami, Head of the Maritime Technology HUB, alongside eight startups operating within the HUB. The delegation held meetings with senior international industry and government officials to expand commercial partnerships, explore investment opportunities and support the startups’ entry into global markets.
Among those meeting the delegation were Jens Meier, President of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and CEO of the Hamburg Port Authority; Dr. Wiebke Melwig, Director-General for Waterways and Shipping at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport; Shri Vijay Kumar, Secretary of India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways; and Dr. Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economic Affairs, Labour and Innovation of Hamburg.
Shaul Schneider said, “For decades, everything was about capacity and cargo, but today, it is a completely different game. A port that cannot provide security, efficiency and advanced technology cannot be a true partner in the supply chain. Innovation and cybersecurity have become critical to maintaining the resilience and continuity of the global supply chain.”
Roi Avrahami added, “Our HUB gives startups a rare opportunity to test and refine their technologies inside a live, fully operational port. By opening our infrastructure and operational expertise to them, we provide a direct springboard to global markets. This roadshow is a natural step in turning local investments into global opportunities.”
The participating startups included Conbo, Flyz Robotics, Salvador Technologies, Treedis, Spinframe Technologies, Azimut.ai, Audisea and Hyphapower, developing solutions in AI, computer vision, cybersecurity, autonomous robotics, maritime intelligence, digital twins and resilient energy.
