The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry announced on Thursday that the prices of regulated eggs will rise by approximately 2.1% starting November 1, 2026. This involves an increase of 27 to 33 agorot for a 12-pack of eggs, depending on their size. The update comes after egg prices were last updated in November 2025.
According to the ministry, the price increase stems from changes in production and marketing costs along the supply chain, ranging from breeders to marketing chains. Among the factors influencing the price are the costs of feed for laying hens, wages, energy, and packaging.
How much will we pay for eggs starting in November?
The new maximum consumer prices, including VAT, for a 12-pack of eggs:
Size M eggs: The price will rise from NIS 13.13 to NIS 13.40, an addition of 27 agorot.
Size L eggs: The price will rise from NIS 14.24 to NIS 14.54, an addition of 30 agorot.
Size XL eggs: The price will rise from NIS 15.48 to NIS 15.81, an addition of 33 agorot.
The price update is carried out within the framework of an automatic mechanism that went into effect in 2023, based on a fixed formula and not requiring the signature of the finance and agriculture ministers. Under the mechanism, changes in egg prices are examined quarterly, and prices can rise or fall depending on changes in costs.
According to the rules, the price is updated if at least six months have passed since the previous update and the cumulative change exceeds 3%, or if a year has passed and the cumulative change exceeds 1%. The current update reflects the change in costs since the last price update.
