A fire broke out at a Japanika branch in Netanya after a stolen piece of military ordnance was thrown at the restaurant, Israeli Police said in a statement on Tuesday morning.
A preliminary investigation by the Israel Police suggests that the incident is criminal in nature, "stemming from an ongoing dispute between criminals," the police statement added.
Officers from the Netanya station are operating at the scene alongside fire and rescue teams.
No injuries have been reported. However, the property sustained damage from the fire.
Police officers have launched an investigation into the incident.
Fifth incident in 24 hours
This is the fifth such incident in central Israel over the past 24 hours after four fragmentation grenades were thrown in separate episodes on Monday.
An explosion was heard in Herzliya after a suspicious object was thrown at a building, according to a statement by the Israel Police spokesperson.
Police were dispatched to an intersection in central Herzliya after the incident. There were no injuries, but minor property damage has been reported.
The incident is suspected to be criminal in nature.
