Including an Arab party in the first government formed after October 7 would be a powerful statement about what kind of society Israel wants to become after one of its darkest chapters.

This is Likud’s lowest figure since August 2025, when it received 21 seats in a Maariv poll. However, the coalition bloc maintained its strength from last week at 50 seats.

Polls have shown that if the Arab parties were to run together, they would receive more seats than they would obtain in a separate run.

The initiative stems from a legal battle to designate the Southern Faction of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Ra’am’s parent movement, as a terrorist organization.

“I look at the political map. The alliance already underway between Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid will be judged by one question only: Does it enlarge the bloc for change?” Golan said.

Weaponizing the October 7 massacre is disgraceful and a betrayal of the very people whose memory should command something far greater than politics.

In an interview, Smotrich also addressed his comments on crime rates in Arab communities, saying, "There is a culture of murder, killing, and jihad in Arab society."

Beliak (Yesh Atid) slammed Smotrich, saying, "You are so racist and disgusting. You should be ashamed. You are responsible, you are a minister in the government, you are responsible."

The Muslim Brotherhood's motto is “Allah is our objective, the Quran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
