Sometimes the holiest thing a healer can do is admit: I, too, need healing.

Together with four fellow physicians, Dr. Ari Greenwald co-founded Milu-EM – a global volunteer network of over 250 emergency physicians committed to supporting Israel’s emergency medical system.

Healing Ink aims to help survivors take back a sense of agency through tattooing, in what CEO Craig Dershowitz described as “a reclamation of their body, of their mind, and of their life story."

After giving so much of themselves to the country they were defending, these soldiers deserve the same status and honor from the IDF as any soldier killed in battle.

The initiative was created in response to requests from members of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization, who said basketball had become an important outlet in helping them cope with trauma.
