Russia's embassy in London was responding to a report in the Times newspaper on Saturday which said British-made drones had been used for long-range strikes against Russia for the first time.

"This incident constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and poses a direct risk to the safety of our citizens," the ministry stated.

Lev Shlosberg, a senior member of Russia’s liberal Yabloko party, was sentenced to 11 years and one month for criticizing the Ukraine war.

"For autumn, I am putting forward the most far-reaching sanctions listings since the start of the war," she told the German daily newspaper, Die Welt.

In a separate interview, Zelensky said that if he were sold 10% of the US's Patriot missiles, Ukraine "will destroy all the Russians’ ballistic missiles."

"Additional details regarding Sunday’s incident remain under investigation, but the drone appears to be Russian," said NATO spokesperson US Army Colonel Martin O'Donnell.

Finland, which also shares a border with Russia, imposed a temporarily restricted area for aviation and maritime traffic.
